From wide-open pistes to a walk through the snow, Haus Rosmarin gives you plenty of ways to enjoy winter. Niedernsill lies between well-known winter sports destinations, so you can explore several ski areas during one holiday.
Skiing around Zell am See and Kaprun
On the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, ski with views of the surrounding mountains. In Kaprun, choose between Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn, with its high-altitude glacier slopes. The towns of Zell am See and Kaprun are around a fifteen-minute drive from the house. The ski bus also stops about 50 metres away, just around the corner. Start your day with fresh rolls from the bakery, which offers a delivery service too.
More slopes in the Kitzbühel Alps
KitzSki is another great choice from Niedernsill. Take the Panoramabahn in Hollersbach or join the ski area at Pass Thurn to explore the extensive slopes of the Kitzbühel Alps. For even more variety, spend a day in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn.
Discover the glacier landscapes
Alongside Kitzsteinhorn, the region is home to the Weißsee Gletscherwelt near Uttendorf. Travel through the Stubachtal valley to reach the gondola at Enzingerboden. At the top, a high-altitude ski area awaits, surrounded by the mountains and glacier landscapes of the Hohe Tauern. This gives you two very different glacier destinations to explore during your stay.
Enjoy winter without skis
You do not have to head onto the slopes every day. Around Niedernsill, enjoy winter walks, take in the snowy scenery and stop somewhere for a warming drink. Alternate a gentle day of walking with a more active day in the mountains.
Take your dog into the mountains
Your dog can join you on a mountain outing too. At Kitzsteinhorn and the Schmittenhöhe, dogs are welcome in the cable cars on a lead and wearing a muzzle. A separate ticket is required for your dog. That way, you can enjoy the winter mountain scenery together.
After a day in the snow, return to the space of Haus Rosmarin. Warm up, share a meal and make plans for the next day.
